Toasted

Toast can seem pretty lifeless and boring. Most of us probably eat that when their is nothing better in the fridge. I hate to say it, but it is kind of the last thing we are asked about when out ordering breakfast. For anyone like me who prefers a light start to your morning this idea is perfect for you. Not only that, but if you toasted several different types of bread, and offered a buffet of jams and jelly to choose from this would be a great way to have girlfriends over for coffee. I found this in last month's Bon Appetite magazine, and thought what a simple way to dress up a rather bland and ordinary toast and coffee combination.

You can use this bread or any kind you like. I liked that these turned out bite size.

Cover a cookie sheet with foil for easy clean up.

Place the bread slices a couple inches apart.

Toast the bread at 250 degrees until almost burnt.

Slather on ricotta cheese and your favorite jam. I used blackberry.

That's what I call a good morning.
