{Fireworks at Whetstone}
This is probably one of my favorite holidays of the year. Not only is it great because it's in the summer months, which leaves me much more time to enjoy these types of activities, but it is the kind of holiday void of the pressures of gift giving, free of the need to over-indulge, and without the faint narcissism of the family birthday. It is a celebration of freedom not just for our great Country but of all freedoms big and small. I think I may be one of those crazy girls who would attend these festivities all weekend and not just on the fourth of July. I have also had the pleasure of working on the fourth and not being able to enjoy them at all. So for those of you who may have missed it where you live, I have left the lights on for you.
